But living in a hurried pace every day ultimately takes its toll to your wellbeing. Here are some fairly simple ways to slow down for better health.

Schedule wake up time wisely
Starting your day in a rush is not only stressful. It can also potentially affect the rest of your day. Develop a sleep schedule that allows you to get a good night’s rest and wake up early to prepare for the day.

Eat mindfully
Don’t rush your meal. If you are at home, take the time to prepare your food, set the table, and eat slowly. Or if you are eating out, take a moment to study the menu and choose what to order carefully. Enjoy your meal by savoring the taste and flavor. Don’t think about work or anything that you need to do. Mindful eating not only heightens your experience with food. It also gives you time to slow down and keep yourself grounded regardless of how busy things get.

Spend time outside
Set aside some nature time every day. Go for a stroll or find a park or nature spot near you where you can simply enjoy the surroundings. The time you spend outdoors can help boost your mood, stretch your muscles, clear your mind, and reduce stress.

Do less
Multitasking and adding more things on your to-do list every day does not guarantee that you will accomplish more. Instead, it may even hinder you from doing great work. If you do not want to feel hurried and overwhelmed every single day, you have to set priorities. Choose to do less so you can focus on the most important things.

Take control of your digital consumption. Disconnect if you can or at least manage your computer and smartphone notifications to minimize distractions. Keep track of where and how you are spending your time online. Watch out for time vampires like social media that can eat up more of your time if you just mindlessly use it.
